Mississippi

Mississippi is home in the southern United States sharing borders with Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, and the Gulf of Mexico. The state is known for its beauty, which encompasses mountains, rivers, lakes, and of course the beach. Southern hospitality is of course one of the main reasons visitors love coming to Mississippi not to mention all the many things there are to enjoy from the great outdoors to attractions.

If you enjoy checking out the National Parks across the nation, you will have plenty to visit in Mississippi, which include the Gulf Islands National Seashore, Brices Cross Roads National Battlefield Site, Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail, Natchez National Historical Park, Tupelo National Battlefield, Natchez Trace Parkway, and Vicksburg National Military Park and Cemetery.

Civil War history can be found in many locations throughout the state with several battles occurring in the Mississippi. A few of the national parks listed above have a wide array of historical information and sites as they were also battlefields during the Civil War, however, Mississippi has so much more to offer including historic lighthouses, plantations, Native American sights, beaches, and even the birthplace of the Delta Blues and Elvis Presley.
